Does Slides export work?
Yes. Slides generates self-contained HTML exports with all CSS, JavaScript, and assets included in the output folder. The exported files don't depend on any external server. ZIP the entire export folder, making sure index.html is at the root level, drag it onto Static.app, and your Slides presentation is live as a website. All animations, transitions, and responsive layouts work exactly as they do in the Slides preview.
Does Startup export work?
Yes. Startup exports are structured the same way as Slides: a folder with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and image files. ZIP the export, upload to Static.app, and the website is live. Startup's responsive grid system, component library, and animations all work on Static.app because they're built with standard web technologies. No server-side processing is required for any Startup feature.
Are Static.app and Designmodo related?
Yes. Static.app and Designmodo are both products of Designmodo Inc. Static.app was built as the hosting companion for Designmodo's website building tools (Slides and Startup). This means the export formats are designed to work together seamlessly. The team that builds Slides and Startup also understands exactly what the hosting platform needs to support, so compatibility is guaranteed.
Does Slides responsive design work?
Yes. Slides generates responsive HTML with CSS media queries that adapt the layout to mobile, tablet, and desktop screens. The responsive behavior is built into the exported CSS code and works on any hosting platform. When a visitor views your Slides website on their phone, the layout adjusts automatically. Static.app serves the same responsive files that you see in the Slides preview, no additional configuration needed.
Do Slides animations work?
Yes. All slide transitions, scroll-triggered animations, parallax effects, and hover interactions are handled by JavaScript and CSS included in the Slides export. These run entirely in the visitor's browser. Static.app serves the animation scripts and stylesheets from its CDN, and the browser executes them on page load. The animations perform the same as they do in the Slides editor preview.
Can I edit the exported code?
Yes. Edit in any text editor locally, or use Static.app's browser-based code editor after uploading. Change text, images, colors, and layout directly in the HTML.
Can I use Startup and Slides together?
Yes. You can host projects from both tools on the same Static.app account. Each project gets its own entry in the dashboard with a separate URL, settings, and analytics. The Starter plan includes 2 websites, Medium includes 7, and Large includes 30. If you're an agency using both Designmodo products for different clients, the Large plan lets you manage all of them from one dashboard.
